The Stage Management Apprentice will report to the Production Manager and will have the opportunity to serve as the PA/Crew for Man of La Mancha & A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum EMC points will be awarded for this apprenticeship.
Duties include: Observing and assisting the stage management team throughout the production process, and collaborating with and assisting artists and designers in multiple departments. Outside of rehearsals and performances, this Apprentice may observe and assist the Production Manager with production related tasks or errands.
This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills as well as a passion for artist care. Ideal candidates should be able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a good attitude.
The Scenic/Carpentry Apprentice will work with LDTC’s Technical Director and designers on a variety of different projects during the summer season.
Duties include: Working in scenic shop, running backstage crew position during performances, assisting with changeover and load-in procedures for productions and special events, and building, cleaning and maintaining scenic elements and other backstage areas.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Electrics Apprentice will be supervised by the Master Electrician and have the opportunity to support and observe Lighting Designers throughout the 2022 Summer Season.
Duties include: Assisting the Master Electrician with light hang and focus for multiple productions in several different venues, assisting with electrics maintenance and production notes throughout the runs, helping with load-in procedures for special events and productions, and running backstage crew positions as assigned by the Production Manager.
Sound Apprentice will be supervised by the Sound Supervisor and have the opportunity to support and observe Sound Designers throughout the 2022 Summer Season.
Duties include: Supporting the Sound Supervisor with setup for multiple productions in several different venues, assisting with sound maintenance and production notes throughout the runs, helping with load-in procedures for special events and productions, and running backstage crew positions as assigned by the Production Manager.
The Sound Apprentice will also assist in sound design and board operation for the Educational Youth Theatre Workshops and special events as needed.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with handheld and lavalier microphones,
Music literacy and/or working knowledge of some musical instruments a plus.
The Props Apprentice will work with the Props Master and designers on a variety of different projects during the summer season.
Duties include: Procuring specialty props as required by the designer, tracking props and creating preset lists based on rehearsal reports and stage management requirements, running a backstage crew position during performances, assisting with changeover and load-in procedures for productions and special events, and cleaning/updating/maintaining props/props inventory.
The Wardrobe Apprentice will work with the wardrobe supervisor and designers on a variety of different projects during the summer season.
Duties include: Assisting the costume designer with the design for productions, maintenance of costume pieces and daily laundering needs in rehearsal and performance, running a backstage crew position during performances, assisting with changeover and load-in procedures for productions and special events, and cleaning and maintaining costumes, costume areas, and other backstage areas.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. Candidate able to bring car a plus.
