The Company Management Apprentice will report to the Seasonal Company/Production Manager.
Company Management is responsible for supporting the visiting artists that serve our productions. The Apprentice will be responsible for assisting the Seasonal Company Manager with day-to-day tasks including performing general office duties, arranging travel, preparing employee housing, running departmental errands, assisting with company events, and being on call for emergencies.
This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills as well as a passion for artist care. Ideal candidates should have a positive attitude, a personable sense of humor, and an interest in company management or hospitality.
Candidate must also have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle background check. The nature of the duties of this apprenticeship may require heavy lifting/carrying items up or down stairs.
The Patron Services Apprentice will report to the Patron Services Manager.
The Apprentice will serve in the box office, assist in patron development efforts, assist with volunteer management and training, give theatre tours, assist in front of house/pre-show and bar/concessions management, be on call for emergencies, receive and process all employee comp ticket requests, run departmental errands, and perform general office duties.
Ideal candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with others effectively and professionally under pressure, excellent phone and computer skills, as well as an interest in box office and front of house services. Database and customer service experience is a plus.
The Marketing Apprentice will report to the Director of Marketing.
Duties include: Supporting the Marketing Manager to execute promotions, direct mail and e-marketing projects, drafting for press releases and emails, managing distribution of promotional materials, coordinating and creating social media content, and assisting with planning for special events. Attend rehearsals, engagement/development events, special events and performances. Capturing and distributing photo/video content that supports LDTC’s Marketing, Development, and Education initiatives. Scheduling and conducting photo shoots and video interviews. Editing photos and videos, ensuring all files are stored for future access. Create/manage a film and photo diary of all youth summer camps to be distributed to parents and caregivers.
Candidate must have previous knowledge/experience with social media platforms, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to capture video footage, and experience using programs such as iMovie. Experience using Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) a plus. Important skills including organization, good people skills, positivity, the ability to work both as a member of a team and independently, and a passion for theatre.
The Marketing Apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside team members in all fields of marketing, as well as in various development and patron services efforts. The Marketing Apprentice will also work with creative team members (technicians, actors, etc.) in collecting and distributing social media messages and campaigns.
Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines. Possess strong storytelling abilities, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of video/film techniques, lighting and audio equipment and interview skills are desirable. Experience in programs such as iMovie, Final Cut, or Adobe After Effects are also desirable. Familiarity or interest in theatre and the performing arts a plus. Having your own camera, also a plus.
The Development Apprentice will report to the Director of Development.
The Apprentice will serve as a key member of the development team through a variety of donor coordination and event planning efforts as they directly relate to the fields of fundraising and marketing.
Duties include: Coordination of communication efforts through mailings, emails, and phone calls; organization of special events pertaining to operational and/or capital fundraising; implementation of fundraising communication initiatives throughout the season; management of donor data records; and general support in the areas of development, donor services, and marketing.
Prior experience and knowledge of working with databases, detailed spreadsheets, implementing customer service initiatives, and planning events is a plus. Apprentice will also have the opportunity to work alongside team members in all fields of fundraising and development, and may have opportunities to assist in various marketing and patron services efforts.
