ADMINISTRATIVE: MARKETING/PATRON EXPERIENCE APPRENTICE

The Theatre SilCo Apprentice Program provides opportunities for young theatre professionals to fast track their careers with on-the-job training in their field of interest. The program bridges the gap between the educational world and the professional world by providing real work experience and credits that help build résumés and skills. Apprentices team up with department supervisors who serve as mentors and support them during their time at Theatre SilCo. 

POSITION

Contribute to the promotion of diverse performing arts experiences by assisting in multiple business units at Theatre SilCo: Marketing and Patron Experience. This apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in content creation, marketing, promotions and patron experience within the performing arts sector. If you’re a motivated and creative individual looking to make a meaningful impact in a small, community-focused theatre, we invite you to apply and be a part of our passionate team.

  • Content Creation: Assist in the creation of compelling and visually appealing content for promotional material, social media platforms, and our website for our summer season.
  • Events + Community Outreach: Represent Theatre SilCo at community events, festivals, and local gatherings to enhance our presence in our community and region. Assistin the execution of patron experience events linked to productions and our Summer Patron Gala.
  • Promotions: Support the marketing team in promoting summer performances, classes and special events.
  • Front of House/Box Office Support: Ticketing and Patron Services. Engage with patrons in a friendly and informative manner, addressing their needs, answering inquiries, and leaving a lasting positive impression.
  • Exemplary Customer Service: Contribute to fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere that goes beyond expectations, making each patron feel like part of our Theatre SilCo family.
  • Data Analysis: Support the marketing team by extracting insights from tools like Google Analytics to help inform marketing strategies. This allows us to optimize campaigns and tailor our efforts for greater audience engagement.

Please note that high-ranking candidates will be asked to do a second interview with the marketing and patron experience departments. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have an interest / field of study in theatre, marketing, non-profit business, or a related field.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

DETAILS: 

  • Dates: *June 2, 2025 – August 18, 2025
  • Travel: Travel or Travel stipend is provided as needed. 
  • Housing: Housing is provided for the apprentice. Housing will be shared with other members of the apprentice team. You will be allocated a private room. 
  • Transportation: Free public transportation is available with local bus shuttles. Depending on location of housing, the theatre also provides transportation through a shuttle schedule.
  • Stipend: Theatre SilCo Apprentices earn a weekly meal stipend of $325.00 a week.

PRODUCTION: PRODUCTION APPRENTICE 

The Theatre SilCo Apprentice Program provides opportunities for young theatre professionals to fast track their careers with on-the-job training in their field of interest. The program bridges the gap between the educational world and the professional world by providing real work experience and credits that help build résumés and skills. Apprentices team up with department supervisors who serve as mentors and support them during their time at Theatre SilCo. 

POSITION

The Production Apprentice will work with Theatre SilCo’s Technical Director, Theatre SilCo’s Production Manager, Seasonal Assistant Technical Director, and designers on a variety of different projects during the summer season. 

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Assist on scenic build, paint, light hang/focus for multiple productions. 
  • Assist with electrics, sound, scenic load-in and maintenance/notes for all productions.
  • Backstage run-crew assignment(s). 
  • Clean and maintain all tech areas and backstage areas.
  • Apprentice will also assist the Educational Youth Theatre Workshops and special events as needed. 

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires exceptional communication, time management skills as well as a passion for all things technical theatre. Candidates must be able and willing to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a great attitude. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

PRODUCTION: STAGE MANAGEMENT APPRENTICE

The Theatre SilCo Apprentice Program provides opportunities for young theatre professionals to fast track their careers with on-the-job training in their field of interest. The program bridges the gap between the educational world and the professional world by providing real work experience and credits that help build résumés and skills. Apprentices team up with department supervisors who serve as mentors and support them during their time at Theatre SilCo. 

POSITION

The Stage Management Apprentice will report to the Production Manager as well as the Production Stage Manager, and Assistant Stage Manager for all three summer productions.

DUTIES

  • The SM Apprentice will serve as the PA/Crew for Steel Magnolias and Escape to Margaritaville.
  • Observe / Assist the stage management team throughout the production process.
  • Assist artists and designers in multiple departments; this may include working in the costume, props, scenic, lighting/sound departments to be extra hands as needed to hit deadlines. 
  • This Apprentice will observe and assist other theatre staff (Assoc Artistic Director, Production Manager, Company Manager) with tasks and errands.

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills as well as a passion for artist care and an interest in pursuing a Stage Management career. Candidates must be able and willing to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a great attitude. 

PRODUCTION: WARDROBE/COSTUME APPRENTICE

The Theatre SilCo Apprentice Program provides opportunities for young theatre professionals to fast track their careers with on-the-job training in their field of interest. The program bridges the gap between the educational world and the professional world by providing real work experience and credits that help build résumés and skills. Apprentices team up with department supervisors who serve as mentors and support them during their time at Theatre SilCo. 

DESCRIPTION:

The Costume/Wardrobe Apprentice will work with the wardrobe supervisor and designers on a variety of different projects during the summer season.  

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist the Costume Shop Manager with design construction for productions.
  • Maintenance of costume pieces and daily laundering needs in rehearsal and performance
  • Backstage run-crew position on all productions.
  • Clean and maintain costumes, costume areas, and other backstage areas. 
  • Assist with changeover and load-in for productions and special events,  

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires basic sewing/costume construction skills as well as a passion for artist care and an interest in pursuing a career in Theatre, Costuming, Fashion. Candidates must be able and willing to operate in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a great attitude. Candidate must be able to lift 40 lbs. Candidate able to bring their own car a plus.

TEACHING ARTIST

Theatre SilCo is an Equity theatre in Silverthorne, Colorado currently accepting applications for Teaching Artists for the 2025 Summer Season. Camps include: Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition and Raise Your Voice: A Musical Review production camps; How I Became a Pirate, Daniel Tiger, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Seuss on the Loose, Gotta Catch ‘Em All, Trolls, Fairytale Fun, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus Playmakers camps; Movement of Theatre, Best of Broadway, Improv Theatre, and Musical Theatre Dance skills based camps. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching Artists will serve as a key member of the Education team and act as lead teacher and advisor to a team of high school Education Apprentices. Our teaching artists will make strong artistic contributions to the success of our youth productions and camps by overseeing Youth Workshop Productions and camp activities.

DEPARTMENT SUPPORT: The teaching artists will help maintain the daily camp schedule, assist in creating curriculum, oversee the daily implementation of curriculum, assist with external communications to families and/or artistic staff, and support a culture of generosity and empathy. 

PRODUCTION SUPPORT: The teaching artists will work with the costume team and set designers for both production camps, communicating needs and changes as they arise in rehearsals. Support during the tech process and serve as backstage support during the show.

DAY TO DAY DUTIES: 

  • Aide in drop off and pick up for all Youth Theatre Workshops and Camps
  • Teach children from Pre-K to 9th grade the fundamentals of theatre as well as working towards full productions following the curriculum that the Teaching Artists create with approval from the Director of Education.
  • Gather, make, create, etc. materials needed for each camp.
  • Take photos of daily camp activities and upload to a Google Drive folder that is shared with the Marketing department and community members
  • The Teaching Artists will be present for lunch time with the campers and assist them as needed (opening juice, cleaning spills, etc).
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience as a teaching artist. Candidates with Spanish language fluency or previous experience in an ESL environment are encouraged to apply. In accordance with national standards and practices, all potential Teaching Artists are subject to a federal background check.

DATES AND INFO:
Start Date: June 2, 2025 (Some flexibility)
End Date: August 23, 2025 (Some flexibility)

*Week of June 2nd and June 30th are prep weeks with no camps or students.

Typical hours are 8:00a-5:00p M-F with some Saturday performances. $600/wk with housing and travel provided

Seasonal Education Manager (SEM)

The Seasonal Education Manager (SEM) reports to the Director of Education during the summer season. The SEM will serve as a key member of the Education team and acts as lead teaching artist and advisor to a team of Education Apprentices. The SEM will make strong artistic contributions to the success of our youth productions by overseeing Youth Workshop Productions and camp activities.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, maintaining the daily camp schedule, assisting in creating curriculum, overseeing the daily implementation of curriculum, assisting with external communications, attending production meetings, and supporting a culture of generosity and empathy. 

Day to Day duties:

  • Teach camps as assigned
  • Run and oversee Drop Off and Pick Up along with Director of Education
  • Make copies/ gather materials for daily lessons (purchases must be approved by Director of Education)
  • Manage enrollment and contact information for each camp
  • Give breaks to staff. Step in and lead/cover for teachers who need a break while teaching.
  • SEM will be present for lunch time and offer other staff members a short break to get lunch and use the restroom as needed along with the Director of Education.
  • SEM will be responsible for making sure staff are following camp schedules and cohorts are moving from space to space at the appropriate times; including restroom breaks and snack and lunch breaks. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a teaching artist. Candidates with Spanish language fluency or previous experience in an ESL environment are encouraged to apply. 

In accordance with national standards and practices, all potential SEM’s  are subject to a federal background check.

Shared housing and a weekly stipend of $700 are provided for the duration of the contract (June 2nd – August 23rd).  Typical hours are 8:00am-5pm M-F with some Saturday Performances.
