Sound Supervisor

SUMMER SEASON 2023: The Sound Supervisor will be in charge of the Sound department and oversee all audio needs including speaker placement hang, in-performance mixing, maintenance and cabling of all sound equipment, and other in-production duties and crew track for the productions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee implementation, operation, and maintenance of all audio needs for the summer season in a number of venues. Ensure sound designs/plots are executed as required per discussions with the artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and designers. Each design is to be ready and loaded in before Sunday of each tech week and should reflect high artistic quality and professional attention to detail. All sound designs must be maintained throughout the production run. Any sound notes needed during the course of the production are to be administered before the next scheduled performance. In-performance live mixing of Head Over Heels. It will be a 14 person cast singing to pre recorded tracks.

DEPARTMENT SUPERVISION: The Sound Supervisor will report to the Production Manager, Technical Director, and Sound Designer. The Sound Supervisor will supervise the Sound Apprentice during the contract dates and any job responsibilities or design work on special events as assigned to the apprentice. Working with the rest of the production staff, Sound Supervisor will ensure all sound requirements for each production/event meets all technical specifications per discussions with the artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and artistic team, as well as overseeing sound maintenance throughout the course of the run. 

TECHNICAL PROCESS: Sound Supervisor must be present and perform required duties at rehearsals and performances to the satisfaction of artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and production stage manager. During tech week and through the run of the productions, Sound Supervisor will live mix mics and recorded tracks for Head Over Heels.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise maintenance of all sound equipment, including speakers, consoles, microphones, body pack mics/receivers, and any other show-related equipment. Coordinate repairs or replacement as needed. 

STRIKE / CHANGEOVER: Plan and oversee all sound strikes and changeovers of productions and special events. 

YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOPS: The LDTC also produces theatre for young actors in a workshop environment throughout the summer,on the outdoor stage. The Sound Supervisor will be responsible training an Apprentice to live mixing and run the performances for these productions.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BFA (required) in technical theatre, sound design, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of theatrical sound systems required. Experience with Behringer X-32 digital consoles, console programming experience, live mixing experience required. Some design experience preferred. Must display a positive attitude with a focus on people and our community. Demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Strong leadership skills. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher sound plots, elevations, ground plans, and other design elements whether hand written or via technology like VectorWorks, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This job requires climbing stairs, using ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools. There is also a certain amount of lifting and carrying of weights of up to approximately 50 lbs.

Props Supervisor

SUMMER SEASON 2023: The Props Supervisor will play an essential role in the Prop department, reporting to the Director of Production, and oversee all props needs including rehearsal prop requisition, performance prop construction/rental, creating properties tracking sheets, in-performance prop tracking, props stock inventory and maintenance, and other in-production duties and crew track for the productions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Props Supervisor will oversee all props needs including rehearsal prop requisition, performance prop construction/rental, creating properties tracking sheets, in-performance prop tracking, props stock inventory and maintenance.

During tech week and through the run of the productions, Props Supervisor will supervise prop tracking for the production.

BUDGETS: Track expenditures for the properties department as well as supervise/execute purchases on company accounts and cards of props materials, theatrical supplies, furniture, repairs/replacements, etc.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise and execute maintenance of all props and related equipment, including crafting tools, power tools, consumables, and any other show-related items or equipment. Coordinate repairs or replacement as needed.

Master Electrician

SUMMER SEASON 2023: The Master Electrician will be in charge of the Electrics department and oversee all lighting needs including hang, circuit, focus, maintenance of the plot, and in-production duties and crew track for the productions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and participate in all hang/focus and electrics needs for the summer season in a number of venues. Ensure lighting designs/plots are executed as required per discussions with the artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and designers. Each plot is to be ready and loaded in before Sunday of each tech week and should reflect high artistic quality and professional attention to detail. All lighting plots must be maintained throughout the production run. Any focus notes needed during the course of the production are to be administered before the next scheduled performance. In-performance operation of lighting board and proper execution of lighting cues for Head Over Heels.

DEPARTMENT SUPERVISION: The Master Electrician will report to the Production Manager, Technical Director, and Lighting Designer. The ME will supervise the Electrics Apprentice during the contract dates and any job responsibilities or design work on special events as assigned to the apprentice. Working with the rest of the production staff, ME will ensure all lighting requirements for each production/event meets all technical specifications per discussions with the artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and artistic team, as well as overseeing lighting plot maintenance throughout the course of the run. 

TECHNICAL PROCESS: Master Electrician must be present and perform required duties at rehearsals and performances to the satisfaction of artistic director, associate artistic director, director, and production stage manager. During tech week and through the run of the productions, ME will operate the light board and otherwise execute necessary duties on the crew as assigned by the Production Stage Manager.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise maintenance of all lighting equipment, including lights, dimmers, light boards, tools, spotlights and any other show-related equipment. Coordinate repairs or replacement as needed. 

STRIKE / CHANGEOVER: Plan and oversee all lighting strikes and changeovers of productions and special events. 

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BFA (required) in technical theatre, lighting design, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of theatrical lighting systems, experience with ETC ION console, console programming experience, hang/focus experience required. Some design experience preferred. Must display a positive attitude with a focus on people and our community. Demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Strong leadership skills. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher lighting plots, elevations, ground plans, and other design elements whether handwritten or via technology like VectorWorks, etc.

Assistant Technical Director

currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Assistant Technical Director for the 2023 Summer
Season. Productions include: Head Over Heels, The Half Life of Marie Curie, Baskerville: A Sherlock
Holmes Mystery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and build all scenic elements for production.
The ATD will ensure sets are built, painted, and finished as per direction from the Director of Production
or other Artistic Team representative. Each set is to be ready and loaded in accordance with the
production calendar and should reflect high artistic quality and professional attention to detail. All sets
must be maintained throughout the production run. Any repairs needed during the course of a production are to be administered before the next scheduled performance, wherever possible.

SCENIC DESIGN / DRAFTING: If Scenic Designer requires, some refinement or drafting of shop
drawings may be necessary. Skills in drafting software are a plus, but not required.

TECHNICAL PROCESS: ATD must coordinate with Director of Production to supervise/attend
any technical rehearsals which they may be required to attend. During technical rehearsals and
performances, ATD will be in attendance for load-in and strike and supervise/execute all
necessary duties to ensure a safe and timely setup of all technical elements.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise maintenance of all theatre equipment, including tools, lights,
dimmers, sound and light boards, spotlights and any other show-related equipment. Coordinate repairs
or replacement as needed. Maintain the shop, backstage areas, scenic storage, etc. in a neat and
orderly fashion. Facilitate the storage and maintenance of properties, set pieces, furnishings, and all
technical equipment concerning load-in/strike, special events, workshops and other coordinated events.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BFA (preferred) in technical theatre, or comparable work experience. Strong
carpentry skills and experience in construction for theatre required, scenic painting skills a plus. Display a positive attitude with a focus on people and our community. Must demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities.
Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher drafting plates, elevations, ground
plans, and other design elements whether handwritten or via technology like VectorWorks, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This job requires climbing stairs, using ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools. Must
be able to correctly and safely operate shop tools, saws, drills, and other machinery. There is also a
certain amount of lifting and carrying of up to one hundred pounds.
