Relationship + Events Coordinator


Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Reports To: Director of Philanthropy / Director of Marketing & Patron Experience

Target Salary Range: $50-$55K

Overview: The Development Associate (DA) will help to ensure organizational stability and
sustainability with the generation of contributed revenue.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities: The DA reports to the Director of Philanthropy and assists with raising
funds through multiple revenue streams. The main focus will be on individual donor cultivation and
managing donor relationships. Donors will be reached through a variety of communication channels
plus in-person public performances or private events. The DA will be responsible for tracking
individual giving (entry, acknowledgements and reports), and will take the lead on coordinating social
events.

Secondary Responsibilities: The DA will work with the Director of Marketing on sponsorship
opportunities and patron engagement. With cross-functional collaboration opportunities and
intentional exposure to our leadership team, this role is an excellent entry point for those who may
be interested in a career in the non-profit sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Donor Cultivation:

  • Assist in donor cultivation efforts, in accordance with the annual Fundraising Plan
  • Identify potential patron/donor prospects and implement strategies for reaching them
  • Support donor pipeline development to increase individual donations and proactively upgrade
    contributions to major gifts
  • Participate in community outreach
  • General support in the areas of development and donor service

Donor Campaigns:

  • Coordinate donor solicitation campaigns and fundraising communications
  • Coordinate communication efforts through mailings, emails and phone calls
  • Fulfill expectations in accordance with the new Strategic Plan and Brand Strategy
  • Support launch and growth of planned giving campaign
  • Process donor acknowledgement letters

Special Events:

  • Special event management for: friend-raiser patron engagement socials, direct ask receptions, and
  • donor appreciation events
  • Help create, plan and execute annual fundraiser (if applicable)

Database:

  • Maintain accurate donation and patron records in database
  • Filter and pull donation reports from database

Grants:

  • Complete local grant applications and assist with grant reporting (as needed)

  • Able to take responsibility for managing multiple projects until goals are met

Qualifications + Required Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills. Written and oral presentation skills. Proficient with spreadsheets and
databases. Technologically adept with an aptitude in learning new computer programs. Experience working on software programs including content management systems.
