PROPS SUPERVISOR

Theatre SilCo is an Equity theatre in Silverthorne, Colorado currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Props Supervisor for the 2024 Summer Season. Productions include: Ken Ludwig’s Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Mystery, The Amish Project, and The Legend of Georgia McBride.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Props Supervisor will oversee all props needs including rehearsal prop requisition, performance prop construction/rental, creating properties tracking sheets, in-performance prop tracking, props stock inventory and maintenance. 

DEPARTMENT SUPERVISION: The Props Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and Technical Director. Working with the rest of the production staff, Props Supervisor will ensure all requirements for each production/event meets all technical specifications per discussions with the artistic staff, as well as overseeing prop maintenance throughout the course of the runs. 

TECHNICAL PROCESS: Props Supervisor must be present and perform required duties at rehearsals and performances to the satisfaction of artistic staff. During tech week and through the run of the productions, Props Supervisor will supervise prop tracking and maintenance for the production.

BUDGETS: Track expenditures for the properties department as well as supervise/execute purchases on company accounts and cards of props materials, theatrical supplies, furniture, repairs/replacements, etc.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise and execute maintenance of all props and related equipment, including crafting tools, power tools, consumables, and any other show-related items or equipment. Coordinate repairs or replacement as needed. 

STRIKE / CHANGEOVER: Plan and oversee all prop strikes and changeovers of productions and special events. 

QUALIFICATIONS: BFA or BA in technical theatre, properties design, or equivalent work experience. Props construction, rental, and requisition experience. Some design experience is preferred. Must display a positive attitude with a focus on people and community. Demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Strong leadership skills. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher property plots/tracking, elevations, ground plans, and other design elements handwritten or via software technologies.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This job requires climbing stairs, using ladders, and power tools. There is also a certain amount of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

$650-$750/wk DOE
Housing and Travel provided
