Dual Language Arts Engagement Coordinator

The Arts Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and day-to-day activities of the Dual Language Arts Program (English and Spanish) including but not limited to the after-school care program, Dual Language TYA Production, Youth Education Workshops, and Dual Language TYA Production School Tour for kindergarten through 12th grade youth. The Arts Engagement Manager plays a key role in the direction of the Dual Language Program and Youth Education Workshops as it pertains to quality, timeliness, and scheduling.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Coordinate the Dual Language After School Program for English Language and Spanish Language participants; Prepare classroom strategies and assistance with curriculum structure for Seasonal Teaching Artists to follow; Coordinate program rollout and communication plans for potential parents (English and Spanish speaking) and/or educators in reference to the program’s curriculum, cost and scholarship/reduced tuition opportunities; Consult with Artistic Leadership Director on bridge building strategies to engage the Latinx and Spanish speaking communities in Summit County, Colorado;  Conduct interviews and auditions with Artistic Leadership Director for the Seasonal Teaching Artists; Collaborate with the Dual-Language Teaching Artists to prepare the daily curriculum for the program; Facilitate curriculum development during two-week Teaching Artist Training prior to program start and throughout the year; Communicate with and provide coaching support to Teaching Artists.  Report progress of the program to the Artistic Leadership Director.  Create and implement a Dual Language play for K-12 youth. Collaborate with commissioned playwrights for the purpose of creating and implementing the dual-language plays as well as providing updates to the Artistic Leadership Director regarding script development, directing and working with local schools to schedule audience attendance for performances; Preparing relevant instructional materials and support for pre-show and post show classroom analysis ; Assist marketing department in development and implementation of marketing ideas for the dual language program; Translate program documentation and marketing materials, for the dual language program and community outreach;      Serve as an ambassador for the theatre in interviews and related public relations opportunities; Act as a substitute for seasonal teaching artists in the event of illness or absence; and Collaborate with Associate Artistic Director on class and play selection for Youth Education Workshops.

HOURS:  40 hours per week (9 am to 6 pm)

SALARY: $61,339.00  per year

REQUIREMENTS: Master of Arts in Drama, Theatre, or a closely related field plus one (1) year of experience in theatre/drama education including the direction of at least two (2) professional stage productions. Must be fluent in Spanish and English (read, write, and speak).
