Assistant Technical Director

SilCo, formerly The Lake Dillon Theatre Company, an Equity theatre in Silverthorne, CO is
currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Assistant Technical Director for the 2023 Summer
Season. Productions include: Head Over Heels, The Half Life of Marie Curie, Baskerville: A Sherlock
Holmes Mystery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and build all scenic elements for production.
The ATD will ensure sets are built, painted, and finished as per direction from the Director of Production
or other Artistic Team representative. Each set is to be ready and loaded in accordance with the
production calendar and should reflect high artistic quality and professional attention to detail. All sets
must be maintained throughout the production run. Any repairs needed during the course of a production are to be administered before the next scheduled performance, wherever possible.

SCENIC DESIGN / DRAFTING: If Scenic Designer requires, some refinement or drafting of shop
drawings may be necessary. Skills in drafting software are a plus, but not required.

TECHNICAL PROCESS: ATD must coordinate with Director of Production to supervise/attend
any technical rehearsals which they may be required to attend. During technical rehearsals and
performances, ATD will be in attendance for load-in and strike and supervise/execute all
necessary duties to ensure a safe and timely setup of all technical elements.

MAINTENANCE: Supervise maintenance of all theatre equipment, including tools, lights,
dimmers, sound and light boards, spotlights and any other show-related equipment. Coordinate repairs
or replacement as needed. Maintain the shop, backstage areas, scenic storage, etc. in a neat and
orderly fashion. Facilitate the storage and maintenance of properties, set pieces, furnishings, and all
technical equipment concerning load-in/strike, special events, workshops and other coordinated events.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BFA (preferred) in technical theatre, or comparable work experience. Strong
carpentry skills and experience in construction for theatre required, scenic painting skills a plus. Display a positive attitude with a focus on people and our community. Must demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities.
Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher drafting plates, elevations, ground
plans, and other design elements whether handwritten or via technology like VectorWorks, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This job requires climbing stairs, using ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools. Must
be able to correctly and safely operate shop tools, saws, drills, and other machinery. There is also a
certain amount of lifting and carrying of up to one hundred pounds.

$650-$725/wk DOE
