During the summer, the Education Staff is responsible for a number of skills and performance based camps, including:
Playmakers camp (preK & Kindergarten)
3-wk Footloose One Act Version performance camp ( 5th-10th graders)
3-wk Winnie the Pooh musical performance camp (rising 1st-8th graders)
Theatre Movement(1st-10th graders)
Education Apprentices will assist the Seasonal Director of Education with the execution and instruction for these programs.
Education Apprentices will serve as camp staff for the Lake Dillon Theatre Company’s Summer Youth Workshops. The program entails teaching children from Kindergarten to 9th grade the fundamentals of theatre as well as working towards full productions. Apprentices will work closely with the Director of Education to create lesson plans and programming for all age groups. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain teaching experience in a fast-paced summer education program.
Experience in musical direction or playing the piano is a plus. Apprentices will also run before- and after-program activities on a rotating schedule.
Special Note: In accordance with national standards and practices, all potential education apprentices are subject to a federal background check.
Dates of Education Apprenticeship: early June 6 – August 12, 2022
